The founder of a religious family organization has endorsed a candidate for U.S. Senate in Texas.

Dr. James Dobson, founder of Focus on the Family, has endorsed Ted Cruz for U.S. Senate. Cruz served as the Solicitor General of Texas from 2003 to 2008.

Dobson said “Texas is the largest conservative state in the country. Open Senate seats don’t come along there every day. It would be an absolute travesty to squander this opportunity on another politician who compromises values to get votes.”

He continued, saying “I urge all Texas who love life, family, faith, and freedom to not only vote for Ted Cruz, but to work hard for his campaign.

Other candidates for the seat being vacated by Kay Bailey Hutchison include Texas Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst and Tom Leppert, former mayor of Dallas.
