It's officially spring in Texas and for many of us, it's felt like a typical spring in the Lone Star State. Temperatures ranging from nice to warm and even some thunderstorms popping up in the eastern part of the state while West Texas deals with seasonal dust storms and fire weather.

But what are the long-term predictions for this spring in Texas? Will it be dry and hot or wet and mild? For that we turn our attention to those who have been predicting out weather for a long time now, the farmers almanac.

Below-Normal Temperatures To Start, Then Texas Warms Up

So what does this spring look like for Texas? According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, April will begin with below-normal temperatures, but May will warm up. In fact, the Old Farmer's Almanac predicts that temperatures will be warmer than normal for May and above average heat will stick around throughout the summer.

Rain and Thunderstorms This Spring in Texas

The Farmers' Almanac, which is different than the Old Farmer's Almanac,  predicts that Texas will see a warm, wet, and thunder-filled spring. Of course this doesn't mean all of Texas will see a great amount of rain, just that spring thunderstorms are likely across the state.

It's spring time in Texas and that can mean we will see all types of weather between now and June. Get ready for warm days and nice evenings, thunderstorms, and even severe weather. That's just life in the Lone Star State during spring.
