A now-former Lubbock ISD coach has been charged with having an improper relationship with a student.

KAMC News reports that Jordan Michael Nokes (25) recently resigned from his position at Coronado High School.

Lubbock ISD released a statement, stating that last Thursday, January 14th, the district was made aware of a possible inappropriate behavior by a staff member toward a student.

An investigation was immediately launched and the parents of the student were notified as well.

KAMC News also reports that Nokes was convicted of DWI in 2012.
