Election Day for Local Elections Is Today, Polls Close at 7

It's Election Day for local elections and that means people from across Lubbock and the state of Texas will be casting ballots until 7 p.m. this evening. Remember, as long as you are in line by 7 p.m., you will be able to cast a ballot.

In our area, citizens will be voting on Prop A., Lubbock Mayor, Lubbock City Council, Lubbock ISD, Lubbock-Cooper ISD, Frenship ISD, and Shallowater ISD positions along with other school board and city council elections throughout the South Plains. The Lynn County Hospital District also has a major proposition on the ballot.

Lubbock County voters will also be able to vote on adding 3 new members to the Appraisal District. These are new, elected positions in counties with populations over 75,000.
