Tuesday on KFYO Mornings with Dave King and Matt Martin the President and CEO of the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce Eddie McBride joined Dave and Matt to talk about the Young Professionals 20 Under 40, a reception for the new police chief, the "Be The E" classes, the "of the year" candidate recognition, and more.

Tomorrow, November 13th, the Chamber of Commerce will have their Young Professionals 20 Under 40 Banquet. They will recognize 20 local leaders in the community and the resumes that they have built. Eddie said, "I wouldn't call them up-and-coming rising stars, I would say they're already stars."

On Thursday, November 14th, the chamber will have a reception for new police Chief Floyd Mitchell, in the lead-up to his swearing in, as well as Chief Forgerson from Lubbock Fire and Rescue.

McBride also discussed a new series of classes offered to young people ages 12 to 18. The "Be The E" classes are an 18 week program that teaches students to create a business, similar to the Chambers previous Young Entrepreneurs classes. The new classes follow the 4H curriculum. Eddie says that with the classes, and the pitch to a real board of investors at the end, it's a great opportunity to learn about capitalism.
