Dead Body Found North of Abernathy

A dead body was found on Wednesday (Sept. 19) along I-27 north of Abernathy.

The Hale County Sheriff’s Office has begun an investigation into the matter. The Sheriff's Office was joined by Texas DPS and the Texas Rangers.

Initial reports claim it was struck by a vehicle, but the cause of death is currently unknown. The identity of the person is unknown at this time.
