OSHA Investigating Hale County Accident

An accident that occurred in Hale County on Wednesday is now under an OSHA investigation.

Texas DPS reports Michael Deshawn Ray (25) fell from an 80 foot tower while at work for the North Houston Power Line Company. Ray was seriously injured in the fall and taken to University Medical Center by Aerocare where he was listed in critical condition.

The Hale County Sheriff’s Office indicated the accident occurred around noon on Wednesday.

Since then, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, OSHA,  released the following statement.

“We can confirm OSHA is investigating this incident which occurred yesterday {Wednesday}. While there is no way of knowing how long the investigation will take, by law, OSHA has up to six months to complete it.  We cannot comment further while the investigation is ongoing.”
