David Glasheen Discusses Property Tax Reform & Education
LISTEN BELOW TO HEAR THE FULL INTERVIEW WITH DAVID GLASHEEN, CANDIDATE FOR TEXAS HOUSE DISTRICT 84 IN THE REPUBLICAN PRIMARY.
We are now less than a month way from Early Voting beginning in the March 1 Republican and Democrat Primaries. In the race for State Representative John Frullo's District 84 seat, the Republican primary is a crowded one. Four candidates are trying to win votes from Republican voters.
David Glasheen is one of those candidates. Glasheen joined The Chad Hasty Show this past Friday to discuss his campaign and some of the key issues surrounding the Texas Legislature. Glasheen told Hasty that tackling property taxes is a key issue and that the legislature needs to focus on spending less and manage dollars better.
Glasheen is also a big proponent of Education and believes that the legislature is already spending enough on public education. Glasheen told listeners that he believes more local control of those dollars is important. Glasheen also signaled his support for school choice.
I think that most students are going to have their needs met by public schools, but parents have to be able to choose where they send their kids to school. They have to control what their kids learn and we have so many great alternatives through charter schools and homeschooling to meet the needs of students and let parents control what their children learn.
Glasheen also came out in favor of banning tax-payer funded lobbying during the interview and discussed his support of allowing other schools, like Texas Tech, have access to the Permanent University Fund.
