Congressman Arrington Talks Immigration Policies and Farm Bill
Monday on KFYO Mornings with Dave King and Matt Martin Congressman Jodey Arrington joined Dave and Matt to talk about immigration policies, the separation of immigrant children and parents, detention facilities, and the farm bill.
Arrington discussed his belief for the president to have support and help form congress for a change in immigration policy to occur. Additionally, he believes that a compromise needs to be reached.
"If we don't find a compromise solution with the DACA community...then we will miss this opportunity to get the 60 votes, the democrats that we need, to get the president what he needs to secure the border and stop this madness once and for all."
Arrington explained that people who crossed the border illegally need to either have a touch back to their home country, or pay a fine. He went on to say, "this is the most important this for me. They have to get to the back of the line of whatever path, whether it's permanent residence, citizenship, whatever. They cannot cut in front of someone who respected our laws, and the millions of people that are waiting for citizenship and doing it the right way."
The Congressman also spoke on the Farm Bill, saying he thinks that now that it has been pushed aside once for immigration, he is almost certain that it will be put through next time.
