City of Lubbock Reminds Citizens of Freezing Weather Tips

Freezing temperatures are a possibility very soon.

Temperatures around freezing could occur Thursday night, prompting the City of Lubbock to remind citizens of tips to prepare for the weather.

People are reminded to disconnect and drain outdoor gardening hoses, let indoor faucets drip, turn off the irrigation systems, and open cabinet doors below sinks to allow heat from the home to circulate. Also, everyone is advised to know where their home’s main water valve is located, and how to turn it off in case of a problem.

The City says that they will be closely monitoring conditions, and will begin salting streets if necessary.
