Chris Beard Says All Texas Students Will Be Let Into Game, Forgets to Say They Can’t Stay
With a big game against Texas Tech ahead of him, Texas Longhorns Basketball Head Coach Chris Beard said in a pregame press conference that all Texas students would be a priority and let in for the game in Austin.
Well, Coach Beard, you said they would be let in, but that doesn't mean that they were able to stay.
According to Texas Fan First, students would be allowed in the student section doors 90 minutes before tip-off and all other doors would be 60 minutes before, but that did not stop Texas Tech fans. Apparently, a lot of UT students were kicked out of the game because they were sitting in seats that were bought up by Texas Tech fans.
Here's what people on Twitter had to say about the ticket drama:
Even though I was watching the game on TV, you could tell how many Texas Tech fans were there, and boy were they loud. Not only when a Texas Longhorns player air-balled and the stadium erupted AT THEIR HOME COURT, but also just yelling chants for defense when the Longhorns were on offense. It's something you just don't see often at a home court.
I'm sad I missed seeing game in person, but so happy for the team that all their hard work to sweep the Longhorns paid off. Now, the Red Raiders just need to finish the season strong.
I'm going to end the article with this hilarious video that wraps up the entire Texas Tech-Texas ticket drama in a pretty little bow. WRECK'EM, TECH!
