On Wednesday's edition of Lubbock's First News, Elaine Miram, president of the Lubbock Women's Club, talked with Tom Collins and Laura Mac about their upcoming lecture series.

On Thursday, January 10th, the Lubbock Women's Club will be hosting a reception and lecture from Captain Chelsey "Sully" Sullenberg as part of their 2013 lecture series. Captain Sullenberg is famous for safely landing an aircraft in the Hudson River without a single fatality after the plane was struck by geese. This year marks the 4th anniversary of the landing.

Tickets for the event go on sale this Friday at 9 AM for $75 a piece. There are only 300 tickets available. To purchase tickets, call the Lubbock's Women Club at 806-763-6448.
