Two airmen from Cannon Air Force Base were involved in a fatal car wreck in Clovis early Sunday morning.

At around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, July 13, Clovis Police Department officers responded to reports of a vehicle rollover and collision.

Officers arrived on the scene at the intersection of 7th Street and Norris Street and found evidence that a black Hyundai lost control at high speeds and entered a parking lot on the 2400 block of East 7th Street where it struck a protective barrier.

Evidence shows that the Hyundai continued through the parking lot and subsequently struck a curb and rolled several times. 22-year-old passenger, Andrew Padilla, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead on the scene. The owner and driver of the vehicle has been identified as 20-year-old Tylan Bolden.

Both men were Airmen at Cannon Air Force Base with off-base residences located in Clovis

Clovis Police Department’s Major Crash Team is investigating in conjunction with the 9th Judicial District Attorney’s Office. No charges have been filed as of yet.
