The Lubbock Police Department released a report on Tuesday about an armed robbery of the Burger King located at 6003 19th Street that wasn't like most other robberies.

The strange robbery happened Sunday evening (Sept. 17) when a suspect entered the Burger King and ordered a bacon cheeseburger. He paid cash for the meal, but when the clerk opened the cash register to give him change, he said he wanted just $40 from the register. He took the money from the cashier, who cooperated with the robber. Then, he waited for his order to be completed and left the scene. The suspect may have had a gun, but did not show one.

The suspect was described as wearing a black and white shirt with a Nike logo and the words "do it." He was described as a black male between the age of 20 and 30 years old with short black hair. According to police, his height is between 5’11” and 6’2" and his weight is 170-190 pounds.

Anyone with information on the robbery can call Crime Line at 806-741-1000.
