The City of Brownfield announced on Thursday, May 28th that they will not open the Brownfield Family Aquatic Center for the summer.

The City says that due to the effects the COVID-19 pandemic had on the community, they were unable to hire and train lifeguards.

While the City recognized that chlorine kills the virus, they still took into consideration surface areas outside of the pool.

However, KAMC News reports the City of Lubbock will have two pools open in June, Montelongo and Mae Simmons.
