On Thursday Brenda Duby, Corporate Dietitian for United Supermarkets, joined The Chad Hasty Show in the KFYO studio with quick tips and answers for Thanksgiving food safety.

About the amount of turkey to cook for your holiday meal, Duby said, "The general rule of thumb is about one pound per person, maybe one and a half if you've got some big eaters or you want some leftovers."

Duby went on to detail how long your bird should be defrosted, and gave tips for ensuring properly and safely cooked turkey.
