The Lubbock Police Department has identified the body that was found in a field on Monday, September 16th as 60-year-old Vernon Lee White.

Police originally responded at around 9:10 a.m. on Monday when someone called saying they found a body in a field on North MLK Boulevard and E. Kent Street.

According to an LPD press release, the body was in advanced stages of decomposition, and the cause of death remains unknown.

Anyone with information on the death of Vernon Lee White is asked to call the Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit at 806-775-1450.
