Big Brothers Big Sisters to Host Golf Tournament Fundraiser [Audio]
Thursday on Lubbock's First News, Jennifer Redeker, SERVPRO marketing rep, gave details on the upcoming Big Brothers Big Sisters golf tournament.
Big Brothers Big Sisters will host their 9th annual Golf for Kids' Sake golf tournament Friday, May 2, at the Rawls Golf Course. Tee times will be at 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. There will be lunch, provided by J&M Barbeque at noon, and prizes. A kick-off event will be held Thursday, May 1, from 6-9 p.m. at SERVPRO of Southwest Lubbock that will provide dinner with live and silent auctions. Big Brothers Big Sisters connects kids to positive mentors who can help kids overcome life obstacles. Volunteers spend time with a kid seeking an additional positive role model they may not be able to find at home or elsewhere. Redeker said, "If you've got an hour a week to spend with a child, with a little brother, and maybe ride bikes with him, throw the baseball around, that's all that they ask of you is an hour a week."
To register a team or become a sponsor, call Jennifer Redeker at (806) 928-1601 or Amanda Tolley at (806) 763-6010. For more information, visit www.bbbslubbock.org.
