The Lubbock Police Department's Major Crash Unit is asking for the public's help for any information regarding a hit and run in Central Lubbock that left one person with serious injuries.

The hit and run occurred on Saturday, August 21, at 9:25 p.m. when the pedestrian, 19 year-old Christian Johnson, was walking eastbound across the 5800 block of South Avenue Q Drive. A pickup truck travelling southbound hit him while he was crossing the street. The truck sped away, failing to stop and render aid.

Johnson was taken by ambulance to University Medical Center with serious injuries. As of this time, it's unsure how his condition is.

Authorities haven't named any suspects but are searching for a vehicle the victim had identified. Investigators are searching for a 2015-2017 GMC Sierra pickup truck with damage on the front of the vehicle. Its said the vehicle is white or pearl white in color.

Anyone with information on this vehicle, or the driver of the vehicle, is asked to call Crime Line at 806-741-1000 or the Major Crash Investigation Unit at 806-775-2798.

An investigation into this incident is ongoing.
