Lubbock Police Release Composite Sketch of Man Who Tried to Kidnap a Teen Girl
The Lubbock Police Department has released a composite sketch of a man accused attempting to kidnap a 15-year-old girl.
The sketch, which was put together with assistance from a Texas Department of Public Safety forensic artist, is an "approximate likeness of the suspect," according to LPD.
The attempted kidnapping was reported Tuesday (Sept.11) night in South Lubbock. At around 8:30 p.m., officers responded to the 7200 block of Avenue W after a Hispanic male reportedly tried to abduct a 15-year-old girl.
Officers say the teenager was walking in the area while talking on her phone when the man grabbed her from behind and covered her mouth. Neighbors heard the girl scream and went outside. The male-suspect let the teen go and fled the scene in a pickup truck.
Witnesses say the suspect appeared to be between 17 and 20 years of age and is between 5’7’’ and 5’10. The vehicle he was seen driving off in was a dark colored GMC, possibly a Sierra pickup truck.
