Congressman Jodey Arrington added his name to the list of elected officials condemning the violence that broke out across America this weekend.

Rep. Arrington through a press release said that what happened to George Floyd was "unacceptable," but that didn't justify the violence seen over the weekend.

What happened to George Floyd was unacceptable and justice must be served, but that does not justify destroying property, ransacking cities, and assaulting people trying to defend their communities and livelihoods. Peaceful protests are protected by the Constitution, lawlessness and violence are not. Those committing crimes and terrorizing our communities should be arrested and prosecuted.”

Lubbock has had two days of protests and both have been peaceful, though there was a tense moment on Saturday which led to two arrests.
