Another Milestone Reached in Texas Tech University System Fundraising Campaign

The Texas Tech University System this morning announced a major milestone for their current capital fundraising campaign.  The fundraising for ‘Vision & Tradition: The Campaign’ has surpassed the $900 million mark. When the campaign was started Chancellor Kent Hance set a goal of $1 billion.

"Our alumni and friends have a longstanding history of generosity when it comes to supporting the universities of the Texas Tech University System,” said Kent Hance, chancellor of the system. “This tradition has continued and helped make a tremendous impact during a time when many other institutions’ fundraising efforts have diminished due to the difficult economic times.”

The campaign is scheduled to end in 2013 and both Chancellor Hance and Vice Chancellor Kelly Overley are confident the goal will be reached.

“We are so close to reaching our $1 billion goal,” said Kelly Overley, vice chancellor and chief operating officer of the Texas Tech Foundation Inc. “We are confident we can celebrate its completion before our anticipated deadline.”

Funds from the capital campaign benefit all system campuses including Texas Tech, Angelo State University and the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center.
