On Tuesday's edition of Lubbock's First News Tonja Hagy, coordinator of the First Friday Art Trail, talked with Tom Collins and Laura Mac about an upcoming film festival coming to the South Plains.

The 8th Annual Flatland Film Festival will be held this weekend at the Firehouse Theater in the Louise Hopkins-Underwood Center for the Arts. The festival features both full-length and short independent films not just for West Texas, but from all over the world. Opening night is Thursday night, Friday night will feature a tribute to Texas filmmakers, and the highlight for Saturday will be a Spanish horror/comedy film.

All screenings start at 7 PM. Admission is $0 for the entire festival, or $10 for each individual screening.
