The Lubbock Police Department will be partially closing the intersection of 58th Street and Indiana Avenue Thursday morning.

The closure will take place from 5:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. for LPD to investigate the auto accident which involved a motorcyclist running a red light and colliding with a minivan.

Northbound lanes of Indiana will be closed along with Westbound lanes of 58th Street.

Witnesses say that Delbert McRoberts did not stop at the red light as he was traveling northbound on Indiana and broadsided the van with his head being smashed through a window.

McRoberts, died from his injuries a short time later at University Medical Center. Drivers are encouraged to take alternate routes tomorrow morning on their morning commute.
