Tonight, an annual holiday tradition will light up the Texas Tech campus. The 54th Carol of Lights will begin at 6:30 with a carillon concert followed by the outdoor ceremony at 7pm.

Unseasonably warm temperatures in the low 60’s at the time of the ceremony will greet those in attendance tonight.

The campus will be illuminated with over 25,000 red, orange, and white lights from December 1st to January 1, 2013. The Residence Hall Association at Texas Tech has sponsored the event since its inception in 1956, according to Texas Tech Today.

Immediately following the outdoor ceremony, the Texas Tech will host its annual Carols Cocnert at Hemle Recital Hall beginning at 8 p.m.
