3rd Person Arrested in Connection to Lubbock Riot Case
Twenty-nine-year-old Fidel Leon, the man whose friends set up a GoFundMe to help raise funds after his car was destroyed in the Lubbock riot, has been arrested in connection to that same incident.
The riot occurred on April 6th after Texas Tech Men's Basketball won over Michigan State in the NCAA Final Four Tournament.
According to Lubbock Police Department Public Information Officer Tiffany Pelt, Leon was arrested Wednesday morning at around 11:30 a.m. He was taken into custody at a home in the 4000 block of 38th Street.
Leon is the third suspect out of the five who had warrants for their arrests issued for the charge of Riot, a Class B misdemeanor. Javier Jurado and Timothy Ramirez have already been taken into custody. Alexander Sotomayor and Cole Saylors have yet to be arrested.
