3D technology has impacted our lives for many years now, it's nothing new. But what IS new, is 3D printing an entire building! Well, the future is now as a Starbucks in south Texas is about to open their doors to their first 3D printed coffee shop.

Anyways, the City of Brownsville has proudly announced that the new 3D-printed Starbucks is going to be pick-up only. This means no ordering your mocha-choca-latte-yaya inside. Instead, you'll have to order online through the app or website and drive to the location to pick it up.

Who Built the 3D Texas Starbucks?

The concept of 3D printing complete buildings is nothing new, per se, but it IS something that Texas hasn't seen a lot of at all. Peri 3D Construction, the company in charge of constructing the Starbucks in Brownsville, TX, has actually built countless projects worldwide with 3D printing technology!

The company is headquartered in Bavaria (that's the state in south Germany for all my fellow geographically-challenged superstars), and the project in Brownsville cost roughly $1.2 million in construction.

According to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the project began around March, 2023, but the 3D Starbucks in Brownsville has a grand opening date of April 28th.
