3 Suspected Gang Members Arrested by Lubbock Authorities
Three suspected gang members were arrested on Tuesday, June 2, through an investigation by the Lubbock Texas Anti-Gang Center (TAG). The arrests were made just after 4:25 p.m. when the three suspected gang members tried to escape authorities.
According to TAG, they were investigating gang activity in the area of 3600 University when they tried to stop a vehicle driven by 21-year-old Abraham Akendeu, a suspected gang member.
Akendeu tried to evade police for close to 18 minutes before crashing into a police vehicle at the intersection of Avenue P and 61st Street. Akendeu was taken into custody, along with 2 other suspected gang members; 18-year-old Seadron Salazar and 20-year-old Izaya Lozano.
Akendeu is charged with Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle and Possession of Marijuana. Salazar is also charged with Possession of Marijuana, and Lozano faces charges related to a preexisting misdemeanor arrest warrant related to speeding.
