Lubbock police are still investigating a severe two-vehicle accident that took the lives of two people.

According to a news release, the accident occurred Saturday, June 20th, 2020 in the 200 block of East Slaton Highway.

After a preliminary investigation, the Lubbock Police Department has revealed that the accident was caused by a motorcycle, driven by 37-year-old Jason Buckner, driving on the wrong side of the road.

Police say Buckner was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of East Slaton Highway and struck a westbound Cadillac SRX head-on. Buckner and his passenger, 42-year-old Stephanie Duke, were both killed in the accident.

The driver of the Cadillac, 28-year-old Freddie Flores, was severely injured in the accident, along with three passengers: 26-year-old Cindy Delao and two juveniles. All four victims were taken to University Medical Center for treatment.
