There are so many amazing animals in Lubbock that are in need of a good home. If you're looking to get a pet, adoption really is the best option because you know you are providing an amazing life to a great animal that otherwise wouldn't have a chance.

Lubbock is home to multiple great rescues, including Haven Animal Shelter, Saving Grace Pit Bull Rescue, South Plains SPCA and the Lubbock Animal Shelter & Adoption Center. They're always getting in new animals that deserve to find their 'furever' home.

While there are so many amazing adult and senior dogs out there that need loving homes, I understand that many people want to start with a puppy to raise. Adopting an adult rescue animal comes with risks that starting with a puppy can reduce. Preexisting abuse, bad habits or other problems can cause a lot of stress for an inexperienced dog owner.

That's why starting your journey as a dog owner can be easier to start with a puppy. You still might run into some unexpected behavior quirks, but that can be less of an issue with a puppy you start training young. Of course, you still have to train the dog, go through potty training and everything else that comes with owning a puppy, but it really is a fulfilling experience.

So if you're looking to get a dog, here are 15 adorable puppies that are currently available to adopt at Haven Animal Shelter.
