"We have a government that has an insatiable appetite to spend," Congressman Randy Neugebauer told Lubbock's First News Monday (March 23).

"We got to stop spending money number one, that we don't have and we need to start letting the hardworking American tax payers have more of a decision over how to spend that money than the government," Neugebauer said.

In the last few years there haven't been a lot of occasions where the House and the Senate have both had a budget, he added.

According to Neugebauer, House republicans and democrats alike will be bringing a number of budgets to the floor for consideration. An underlying goal, he explained, is for a vote to repeal Obamacare.

"The important thing here is that if we can get the budget done in the House and the Senate...under a process called reconciliation, we could get a vote to repeal Obamacare," he said.
