The following roads, highways and streets have been closed or partially closed due to heavy rainfall in Lubbock Monday, May 4 and Tuesday, May 5.

This is the roadway closure information for Lubbock County as of Tuesday, May 6 at 11:25 a.m. (via TxDOT):

  • Southbound US 87 is now open from Tahoka to Lamesa.
  • US 62 through Seagraves is open
  • FM 597 in Hockley county is closed from the Cochran county line to FM 303. Traffic is being turned around.
  • FM 2008 in Garza county is closed at a low water crossing approx. 3.75 miles south of FM 651. Traffic is being turned around.
  • FM 835 in Lubbock county is closed at the Buffalo Lake canyon. Traffic is being detoured onto FM 3020 to Spur 331 and then back to FM 835.
  • FM 179 in Dawson county is closed from the Lynn county line to US 87 in Lamesa. Traffic is being detoured to SH 137 at Lamesa.
  • US 180 in Dawson county is closed from FM 829 to SH 137. Traffic is being detoured onto SH 137 to FM 2052 to FM 829 then back to US 180.
  • US 87 in Dawson county at the intersection with FM 1066. Traffic is being detoured at Lamesa onto SH 137.
