On Friday’s edition of Lubbock’s First News, outgoing Lubbock County Republican Party Chairman Chris Winn joined Rex and guest host Ryan Hyatt to talk about the GOP race.
Winn, along with several other local representative, will be traveling to the Iowa caucus. Winn said that it’s important to see which candidate will come out on top in the caucus:
“We don’t want a repeat of the John McCain primary process. We want a strong candidate that people can have some confidence in.”
Winn said that in 2012, the Republican party needs to focus on maintaining a majority of the House, help out the senatorial races across the country, and make sure Obama is just a one-term president. Winn also talked about his experiences as the chairman of the Lubbock County Republican Party and what he plans to do next.
