The Libertarian Party Presidential candidate started a six day tour of Texas today in Midland.

Former Republican Governor of New Mexico Gary Johnson kicked off his six day tour of the Lone Star State with stops in Fort Worth, Dallas, Waco, Austin, San Antonio and Houston. Johnson will have 13 stops in total through his “Texas Swing”.

In a press release, the Governor is touting his campaign as the only candidate "who has a proven track record of lower taxes, respect, for individual rights, and decreasing the size of government."

While in office from 1995-2003, Johnson turned a deficit of half a billion dollars into a billion dollar surplus while never increasing taxes on New Mexicans and cutting taxes over fourteen times.

Johnson earned the nickname, "Governor Veto" for vetoing 744 bills, more than all the governors in the other 49 states combined during his time as governor.

Johnson plans to share his vision and ideas for reversing the direction of the country. He will be joined by Libertarian candidate for U.S. Senate John Myers along with other local and regional Libertarian candidates.
