Former Austin School Teacher Arrested for Having Sex with Students

A 28-year-old former teacher at Westlake High School in Austin has been arrested after allegedly having sex with two different 17-year-old students.

Haeli Wey was a family friend of one victim, and even traveled on a mission trip to Africa with his family. The other student met the former teacher at a summer camp, according to arrest affidavits.

The Travis County Sheriff's Office arrested Wey on two felony charges of improper relationship between an educator and student on December 17th.

The minor Wey accompanied on the mission trip claims to have had sex with the teacher ten times including after the two returned home, but ended the relationship after he discovered she had relations with the other minor whilst hiking.

Wey was booked into the Travis County Jail on $150,000 bond, and according to the Statesman, faces up to 20 years for each charge.
