Thursday on The Chad Hasty Show, Drew Landry (D) joined Chad in the KFYO studio to discuss issues facing the citizens of West Texas. Landry is challenging Representative Dustin Burrows (R) for his District 83 seat in the Texas House of Representatives.

Landry and Hasty discussed several issues, including public education and funding for it, property taxes, health care and insurance problems facing the state, as well as Second Amendment issues.

While discussing education, Landry said,

We also have to restore respect to the teaching profession, because what we're finding in Texas, and it's not just unique to Texas, but all throughout the country, is that there's a teacher shortage. Very few people are wanting to go into the education field. And what they're finding is that, with the way that teachers are being treated, with retirement being the way that it is, they're asking, 'Why am I going into this?'
