Congressman Randy Neugebauer Talks National Defense Authorization Act And More on Lubbock’s First News [AUDIO]

On Monday’s edition of Lubbock’s First News, Congressman Randy Neugebauer talked with Chad about the latest goings on in Washington.

Neugebauer talked about the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which recently passed through the House. Neugebauer said that the detainment issue was discussed at length, but that the Gohmert amendment helped to clarify the language of the bill. Neugebauer assured that Americans’ rights will not be imposed upon with this new bill.
“[We're] continuing to give people comfort that American citzens’ constitutional right of Habeus Corpus is still intact…American citizens have certain rights under the Constitution, and those can’t be waved.
Neugebauer also gave his thoughts on the Facebook co-founder who threatened to renounce his U.S. citizenship. He said that more and more people are worried about the tax rate and deficit in this country, and are looking for ways to protect their assets. He also gave an update on the Farm Bill and took listener’s calls concerning the NDAA, the Patriot Act,and J.P. Morgan.
