Congressman Randy Neugebauer visited with Tom Collins and Laura Mac on Lubbock's First News on Monday morning.

Neugebauer discussed the current situation in Iraq and the recent atrocities by ISIS militants, and the United States actions with recent limited air strikes against ISIS. He said that the pull out of United States forces is a contributing factor in the instability of the region. Responding to a listener question about who is in control of the Iraqi oil fields, Neugebauer said,

I think there's some question about who's in control of the oil assets in northern Iraq ...there was some discussion that ISIS was in control of one of the terminals but I have not confirmed that.

Neugebauer also talked about the possibility of Lubbock getting a new V.A. clinic to replace the facility which has been outgrown here in Lubbock. He said that there have been discussions about expanding Lubbock's facility and relocating it to the campus of Texas Tech University's Health Sciences campus, which would allow access to many of the numerous specialty physicians available there.
