Chad’s Morning Brief: Free Speech In America
In an Op-Ed for the L.A. Times, a writer argues that we would all be better off if the United States banned hate speech. What is hate speech and who decides what is hate speech the author never fully addresses, but instead describes how it's hard to justify the non-ban on hate speech to her undergrad students. In other words, college kids don't understand how freedom of speech works and their feelings are being hurt so we need to restrict speech.
