A local adoption agency has been nominated for a national award.

Adoption Covenant has been nominated as a 2012 Angel in Adoption by Congressman Randy Neugebauer for their advocacy of adoption issues.

According to a press release, Adoption Covenant is being honored for providing options for women facing unplanned pregnancy, educating the public about the importance of adoption, and for its work to improve the lives of parentless children around the world.

The Angels in Adoption Program is sponsored by the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute, and will honor Adoption Covenant, along with more than 140 other Angels in Adoption at an awards ceremony and gala on September 11th and 12th in Washington, D.C.

The group says they’re being honored for providing options for women facing unplanned pregnancy, educating the public about the importance of adoption, and for its work to improve the lives of parentless children around the world.
