33K Students at Tech for ’12-’13

Texas Tech’s President Duane Nellis  has announced the University’s total enrollment for the fall 2013 semester is more than 33,000 students.

Nellis says the  33,000 estimate includes a record number of freshman as well as record number of transfer students for Fall 2013.

Nellis also reported an 82 percent student retention rate.  

Texas Tech Chancellor Kent Hance has publicly stated a goal of 40,000 students by 2020.

Specific tallies for the student population will be released later in the month.
