Access to a Lubbock-area highway will be restricted for one day next week.

US 87 will be restricted for motorists from Woodrow Road on Monday, June 16th, to allow for bridge construction.

TxDOT crews will set up the detours to allow crews to safely continue work on the new US 87 bridge.

Woodrow Road traffic will not be able to travel through the US 87 intersection due to the construction.

Eastbound Woodrow Road motorists will be detoured south at Loop 493 to US 87 South to the next crossover, where motorists will be able to reconnect with Woodrow Road.

Westbound traffic from Woodrow Road will be detoured north onto US 87 to the North Loop 493 crossover, then south on Loop 493 back to Woodrow Road.

Motorists can expect delays in the area, and TxDOT urges those in the area to drive with caution.

TxDOT expects the work to be completed by 4:30 p.m. Monday afternoon.
