Will It Rain In Lubbock On Friday? There Is A Chance
Just the other day Lubbock had a chance of seeing rain. It even smelled like rain for a moment, but instead of rain, we got nothing. Just clouds and wind. We've seen a lot of those days lately in Lubbock and West Texas. Days of sun, followed by wind, and dirt and sometimes even more dirt.
That's why many of us get excited when we see even a small chance of rain in the forecast. Wee need it, our farmers need it and so do our agricultural producers. And today we have chance for not only rain, but for sever weather to pop up this evening in Lubbock and further north into the Texas Panhandle.
Will it be a huge event? The experts, like KAMC's Ron Roberts say tonight's rain coverage will be pretty minimal, but some of us will see rain, hail, big time wind gusts according to a Tweet from Ron Roberts. The areas most likely to see the worst of the weather are north of Lubbock in the Panhandle.
My hope is that we get a nice long rain shower or two over Lubbock and maybe, just maybe it will stall for a bit and really get things wet. West Texas needs rain right now and while we may not get a lot, every little bit helps.
It has been such a long time without rain that some people might actually run outside in the storm and do a dance or two. Why not? It will be a time to celebrate.
