One month after the great Lubbock sign war abruptly ended, Pure Water has launched a savage new volley against its neighbor, Wendy's.

The two Lubbock businesses, which sit across from each other on 4th and Frankford, made national news in June after pictures of their hilarious sparring went viral. Websites including Time and Buzzfeed picked up the story, which put Lubbock on the map in a big way.

Of course, all good things must come to an end. According to reports, Wendy's corporate office effectively put up a white flag in the sign war, making Pure Water the de facto winner.

Now, Pure Water is either trying to reignite the battle, or just reminiscing about the good ol' days. The store put up a new sign recently that reads: "Now under new management, still better than Wendy's though."

Brutal.

Across the street, Wendy's kept it clean, advertising 50 cent Frostys on their sign. Maybe a delicious deal, but certainly not what Lubbockites were hoping to see from Pure Tea's former rival.
