Wayland Baptist University has dismissed one of its executive staff members.

The Plainview based university suspended CFO James E. Smith back on March 13 of this year while an investigation took place into concerns about financial mismanagement according to the Plainview Daily Herald and WBU.

WBU also filed a civil lawsuit against Smith and his wife, Barbara, alleging financial misdealing from information found during the investigation.
