We are just weeks away from early voting beginning in the March 1 primary. Early voting begins on Valentine's Day, February 14th.

It's easy to register to vote in Texas as there are different ways you can register. First, you can register to vote online via the Texas Secretary of State website. You can also request a written voter registration application from the Secretary of State through their website.

And then of course you can just head to you county election administrator in order to register to vote. If you are in Lubbock County, be sure to visit the Lubbock County Elections Office to see if you are registered to vote.

As the Houston Chronicle points out, some Texas citizens can vote by mail. To vote by mail you have to submit an application for an Absentee Ballot by mail from the Texas Secretary of State.

Not everyone is allowed to vote by mail. You are allowed to vote by mail in Texas only if you: are older than 65, sick or disabled, plan to be out of the county during in-person early voting and on Election Day, are pregnant and expecting a baby within three weeks of Election Day or are in jail. Your application to vote by mail can be denied.

The secretary of state’s office must receive your application to vote by mail before Feb. 18 for it to be considered. Ballots must be received before polls close on Election Day to be counted.

Early voting begins February 14 and ends on February 25 and March 1 is Election Day in Texas.
