So, a lot of people have been complaining recently that our country's become corrupted. Banks, big business, the government, everyone has their own opinions on what's supposedly corrupting our nation. But if this report out of Germany is correct, we could be doing a whole lot worse.

Accroding to a report released by Transparency International in Berlin, the United States is ranked as the 24th least corrupt country in the world. Corruption in this case is defined as, "questions relating to the bribery of public officials, kickbacks in public procurement, embezzlement of public funds and questions that probe the strength and effectiveness of public-sector and anti-corruption efforts." The rankings were based on the results of various surveys on corruption taken around the world, and rank from 0 (the most corrupt) to 10 (the least corrupt). New Zealand made the top of the list as the least corrupt nation in the world (they scored a 9.5 on the least corrupt scale), while Somalia and North Korea are tied for the most corrupt nations. (both countries scored 1.0)

As for the U.S, we ranked at a 7.1 on the least corrupt scale. So say what you will about our scandals and claims of corruptions. We're nowhere near as bad as the 160 some-odd countries under us.
