Upcoming Lubbock Public Library Events

Over the next week several events will be held at Lubbock Public Library locations, most notably the Friends of the Library Book Sale this weekend. Game nights, chess club, story time and a knitting class are also on the agenda. See the schedule below for great events hosted by the Lubbock Public Library System.

Friends of the Library Book Sale

The Friends of the Library book sale starts Friday, October 21st at the Mahon Library. The event spans over the 21^st, 22^nd and 23^rd. The sale tomorrow will be open to Friends of The Library members only, with new memberships being taken at the door. Saturday and Sunday the sale will be open to the general public. Sale hours are 9am to 5pm Friday and Saturday, and 1pm to 4pm Sunday. The Mahon Library is located at 1306 9^th Street.

Chess Club at the Mahon Library

Kids and teens can play chess at the Mahon Library, 1306 9^th Street, on Monday, October 24 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Beginners to experts are welcome. For more information, call the library at 775-2838.

Game Night at Groves Branch Library

Come play Scrabble and other board games at the Groves Branch Library, 5520 19^th Street, on Monday, October 24 at 6:00 p.m. Bring your favorite game or play one of ours. For more information,  call the library at 767-3733.

Bluebonnet Book Club at the Mahon Library

Students in grades 3 through 6 are invited to a book club featuring this year’s Texas Bluebonnet Award nominees at the Mahon Library, 1306 9^th Street, on Tuesday, October 25 at 4 p.m. Refreshments will be served. For more information, call the library at 775-2838.

Learn to Knit at Groves Branch Library

Come to the Groves Branch Library, 5520 19^th Street, and learn the basics of Continental style knitting on Tuesday, October 25 at 6:30 p.m. Bring size 8 knitting needles and worsted weight yarn. For more information, please call the library at 767-3733.

Princess Storytime at the Mahon Library

Calling all princes and princesses! Join us for a special dress-up storytime at the Mahon Library, 1306 9^th Street, on Tuesday, October 25 at 10:30 a.m. Play games, have refreshments, and meet Snow White. Don’t forget your camera! For more information, call the library at 775-2838.
