On Tuesday's edition of Lubbock's First News, Robin Hawkins, health and wellness director for United Supermarkets, spoke with Tom Collins and Laura Mac about Hatch green chiles.

It's Hatch green chile season once again as the popular peppers are now available at United Supermarkets. Hawkins said the chiles can be used in a variety of recipes, including pound cake, meat loaf, cornbread and even Hatch green chile wine, all of which are also now available at United.

Hawkins added that the chiles are also delicious on their own and come with some great health benefits like reducing cholesterol and even reducing the risk of Type 2 diabetes. Customers can also get their Hatch green chiles roasted, free of charge, this weekend and next weekend at all United locations.
