The U.S. Agriculture Secretary will be in Lubbock this week for a town hall meeting.

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack will host a Town Hall Meeting, where he plans to discuss the need for the passage of a Food, Farm, and Jobs Bill on Friday, June 14th.

The meeting will be held at the Museum of Texas Tech University’s Helen DeVitt Jones Sculpture Court at 3301 4th Street in Lubbock.

The meeting will run from 10 to 11:30 a.m., and the doors will open at 9:15 a.m.

The event is free of charge, but space is limited and seats will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Due to a limited number of seats, attendees are encouraged to RSVP by email to Brenda.carlson@tx.usda.gov or by phone at 979-680-5213.

The Food, Farm, and Jobs Bill is passed every five years and sets policy on agriculture, nutrition, conservation, and forestry.
